Michael Ryan and Sophie Demenge are the husband-and-wife team behind Oeuf. The birth of their first child in 2002 turned the couple’s talents to children’s design, and together they founded Oeuf, with the aim of supporting parents in providing a safe foundation for their kids.

After meeting, the pair teamed up to launch the home goods company R+D Designs before founding Oeuf in 2002 after the birth of their first child. Oeuf’s continues to create sustainable products that honor the needs of children, allowing for exploration, play, and connection.
Oeuf (pronounced “uhf”) means “egg” in French—a symbol of simplicity, beauty, and strength. It’s also a reminder of care and protection, much like a maman poule—the French term for a nurturing parent.
From the very beginning, Oeuf has been about creating thoughtful, well-designed pieces that embrace these values.
With a deep respect for children and a commitment to sustainability, our designs are made to support growing families while being gentle on the planet.
